State Medical Examiner Determines Smoke Inhalation Cause of Warren Fire Victim's Death

Oregon State Medical Examiner Dr. Karen Gunson said NATHAN HINES, age 3, died from smoke inhalation. An autopsy was completed Tuesday, August 2nd, at the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office, not Wednesday as previously planned.
The Oregon State Police (OSP) Arson Unit and Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal are involved in a joint fire cause investigation with Scappoose Rural Fire District and Columbia River Fire & Rescue.
The cause of the fire released Tuesday by Scappoose Rural Fire District was listed as "children playing with a lighter." Questions regarding the cause of the fire should be directed to Ronda Melton, Scappoose Rural Fire District Public Information Officer, at (503) 543-5026.
