Update: Missing 92-Year Old Grants Pass Woman Located Deceased in Jackson County
08/11/2008
On August 6, 2008 a news release and bulletin link was sent out to media to help in locating an endangered 92-year old Grants Pass woman, MARGARET ELLA RILEY, who has been missing for 3 weeks.

According to Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, on August 10, 2008 the Jackson County Sheriff's Office responded to the end of Pleasant Creek Road for a death investigation. Two persons who were riding ATV's in the area came across a vehicle in the ditch along the road.

The vehicle returned to Ms. Margaret Riley. Investigators from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Detectives from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to the scene. She was located inside the vehicle deceased. At this time investigators do not suspect any crime has occurred and it appears she died of natural causes.

The vehicle was on Pleasant Creek Road about 7 miles after the maintained road ended. It appeared that her vehicle got stuck in a small ditch along the road and she was unable to get her vehicle free.

The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety had been looking for Margaret since July 15, 2008. Several of the surrounding agencies helped in the search for Margaret, including Josephine County Search and Rescue. The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety would like to thank the agencies and volunteers who helped look for Margaret.
