Fatal Traffic Crash - Highway 140E west of Bly

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Thursday evening's single vehicle rollover crash on Highway 140E west of Bly that resulted in the death of a 36-year old woman. Anyone who witnessed the crash and has not spoken to OSP investigators is asked to call OSP Southern Command Center dispatch at (541) 883-5711.
According to OSP Sergeant Robert Fenner, on August 11, 2011 at approximately 6:00 p.m. a single vehicle fatal motor vehicle crash occurred on Highway 140E near milepost 30 in Klamath County. Preliminary information indicates a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by ZACHERRIAH E. CUTSFORTH, age 18, from Dorris, California was westbound when he lost control, crossed over the eastbound lane and crashed into a steep embankment. The vehicle overturned and came to rest in the eastbound lane on its top.
Right rear passenger identified as SARAH DAWN GASKIN, age 36, from Bly, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. GASKIN was a past resident of Dorris, California. Troopers have not determined if she was using safety restraints.
CUTSFORTH and two other passengers, who were reported to be using safety restraints, were transported by ground ambulance to Sky Lakes Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The other passengers are identified as ALLEN WARREN, age 37, from Klamath Falls, and ROBERT CONN, age 36, from Tulelake, California.
OSP troopers from the Klamath Falls Area Command office are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash. Klamath County Fire District 5 and ODOT assisted at the scene.
The highway remained open but was restricted to one lane of travel during the investigation.
