Reward Offered to Help Solve Illegal Elk Kill and Waste north of Tillamook

The Oregon State Police (OSP) is asking the public to help identify the person(s) responsible for the illegal take and waste of a Cow Elk during closed season about four miles north of Tillamook near Kilchis River Road and Barker's Bridge. A reward is offered for information to leading to an arrest in this case.

OSP Fish and Wildlife Division troopers from the Tillamook office are investigating the unlawful taking and waste of a cow elk that occurred prior to August 21, 2009. Investigation revealed the elk was killed along Kilchis River Road and then drug up a spur road where portions of the meat were taken.

The Tillamook County Chapter of the Oregon Hunters Association along with the Turn In Poacher (TIP) program is offering up to a $1,000 dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect or suspects.
