Come visit our booths, meet our recruiters, and get information about exciting job opportunities with the Oregon State Police!!!
Oregon State Police will join more than 40 other representatives from state agencies in Salem as State government hosts a career event in September in the State Capitol’s front yard to showcase job opportunities with state agencies.
The event, careerfairOregon, will take place on Saturday, September 13th, from 10:00 a.m. to
2:00 p.m. on the Capitol Mall in Salem.
Oregon State Police Superintendent Timothy McLain noted, “This will be a great forum for educating job seekers about the diverse and exciting job opportunities we offer as a full-service public safety organization for the state of Oregon.” 
Oregon State Police representatives will be on hand to answer questions and give out information about the numerous job opportunities that provide premier public safety services in Oregon.  More than 40 representatives of state agencies will be on hand at careerfairOregon to discuss the advantages of working in state government and the satisfaction of following a career in public service. Participants will be able to attend free workshops that offer tips on how to improve their résumés, handle job interviews and gain promotions in their jobs.
“We want to recruit and retain a talented workforce to continue providing high-quality public services to Oregon’s citizens,” said Scott Harra, director of the Oregon Department of Administrative Services.  “The state’s success depends on recruiting the right staff with the right skills at the right time. This event will show job-seekers how they can be part of that success.”
Within the next five years, a third of our state workers will become eligible to retire.  The Oregon State Police and other state government agencies need new people to step into the jobs retirees will leave behind. This exciting career fair will enable Oregonians to meet state recruiters face-to-face, and find out about the great opportunities that await them.  The event will include training sessions and on-the-spot informational interviews, he added, with emphasis on how someone can get a job with the state.

This event will showcase the State of Oregon as an employer of choice. The state needs a talented workforce to meet the business needs of agencies in delivering innovative, high-quality public services. 
Time and Place:
September 13th
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  Visit the large marquee tent across from the State Capitol.
Approximately 50 booths will offer information on state careers, including hard-to-fill occupations such as for nursing, information technology, auditing, financial professionals, etc.
In addition to career information at agencies’ booths, the fair will feature free workshops on such topics as promotions and career development with state government, interviewing, application tips, etc. To ensure seating, attendees may pre-register at www.oregonjobs.org.
Free underground parking at the Capitol Mall Parking structure off of Chemeketa Street.
