Oregon State Police (OSP) is asking for the public's help to locate a 21-year old psychiatric patient from the Oregon State Hospital who was reported on unauthorized leave Saturday, September 3, 2011.

MATTHEW INGLE, age 21, should not be approached and anyone seeing him or with information regarding his location should call OSP Northern Command Center dispatch at (800) 452-7888.

At the time of his departure, INGLE was on a supervised walk with patients and staff at the Salem campus.  INGLE ran ahead of the group and jumped into an unknown make waiting car.  Staff reported him missing at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Hospital officials reported the escape to state and local police agencies.  INGLE is described as a white male, 5'11", 182 lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes.  When last seen, he was wearing blue jeans, a dark shirt, and white hat.

INGLE was admitted to the Oregon State Hospital on November 1, 2009, as a forensic commitment following his conviction on two counts of Manslaughter in the Second Degree out of Clackamas County.  INGLE's conviction stems from an OSP investigation into an April 2009 double fatal traffic crash on Highway 26 west of Sandy that resulted in the death of a mother and 11-year old daughter.
