OSP Troopers, Douglas County Deputy, and Roseburg Police Officer Honored by Optimist Club
The Roseburg Optimist Club honored three local officers and an out-of-town trooper this month at their 33rd annual Respect for Law banquet.  The event is held each year to honor outstanding law enforcement officers for their community service.
Oregon State Police (OSP) Trooper Dave Randall, a 9-year veteran at the Roseburg Area Command office, and Trooper Ken Terry, an 8-year veteran currently assigned in the recruiting section, were two of the officers honored.  OSP Sergeant Steve Mitchell said Trooper Randall declined to accept the honor unless Trooper Terry was also honored.  Both troopers have worked tirelessly to recruit OSP applicants since the 2007 and 2008 legislative sessions provided increased funding to hire 139 new troopers.
The other two area officers to be honored were Douglas County Sheriff's Office Detective Angie Borgio and Roseburg Police Master Officer Roger Childers.
