Wanted Fugitive Shot by OSP Released from Hospital Lodged at Deschutes County Jail

An armed and dangerous wanted fugitive from Idaho who was shot September 18th by an Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper in Oakridge was arrested last Thursday upon release from a Springfield area hospital.  OSP troopers arrested JAMES PATRICK POWERS, age 47, on the following charges listed in a Deschutes County Circuit Court warrant issued following a grand jury indictment:
  • Robbery in the First Degree
  • Kidnapping in the Second Degree
  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle
  • Unlawful Use of a Weapon
Troopers initially transported POWERS to the Lane County Jail where he was lodged.  On Friday, September 24th, he was transferred to the Deschutes County Jail.  The following is a temporary link to the Deschutes County Jail booking information for POWERS, including their booking photograph:
