One Person Injured, Horse Dies Following Traffic Crash west of Rainier

One person was injured and a horse with an unborn foal died following a Tuesday night collision on Highway 30 near Lost Creek Road west of Rainier.
According to Oregon State Police (OSP) Trooper Dan Meyer, on September 28, 2010 at approximately 8:00 p.m. a 1999 Mercedes driven by GRANT GUYER, age 55, from Walterville, Oregon was eastbound on Highway 30 when it collided with a horse that was on the roadway. The horse and its unborn foal died shortly after impact. The owner removed them back to his property that borders the highway near the scene.
GUYER was transported by ambulance to St. John's Hospital with minor injuries.
OSP troopers from the St. Helens work site are completing the investigation.
ODOT and local emergency responders assisted at the scene with traffic control. Highway 30 was closed about 90 minutes.
