On September 29, 2011 the Baker City Police Department received information from St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise that Tyler Arthur's condition was upgraded and he has been transferred out of the Intensive Care Unit. He is expected to be released within the next couple days.

The Baker City Police Department is continuing the investigation into the September 27, 2011 injury traffic crash involving 17-year Tyler Arthur as he rode a bicycle north on 7th Street when it was involved in a collision with an unmarked Oregon State Police (OSP) vehicle driven by Detective David Aydelotte. Evidence indicates Arthur, who was not wearing a helmet, entered the Campbell Street intersection when it was struck by the OSP vehicle that was traveling west on Campbell Street. 7th Street is controlled by stop signs at that intersection and Campbell Street is not.

Tyler Arthur was transported by ambulance to St. Alphonsus Hospital in Baker City and later flown to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.

Detective Aydelotte was not injured.

Further details will be released at a later time when appropriate as the investigation continues. OSP is assisting the Baker City Police Department with this investigation.
