RADE Investigation Leads to Arrest and Marijuana Seizure in Josephine County

An investigation by the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) team led to the arrest of two Grants Pass-area residents last week on marijuana-related charges.  The follow-up investigation reached a point allowing the release of this information.

On September 22, 2010, RADE team members, assisted by Grants Pass Department of Public Safety and Oregon State Police troopers, served a narcotics search warrant at 4480 Williams Highway.  Subsequent search of the property led to the seizure of multiple items of evidentiary value including:

* 327 marijuana plants (53 mature plants and 274 ‘starter' plants) and processed marijuana
* Over $12,300 cash
* Packaging material, electronic scales, and police scanner
* Seven firearms including 4 handguns, a shotgun, and two rifles one of which is an AR-15 assault rifle

Arrested at the scene was ARDEN E. SCHUECKING, age 49.  He was lodged in the Josephine County Jail for Unlawful Possession, Manufacturing and Distribution of Marijuana.  Cited and released to appear in Josephine County Circuit Court was RICKIE E. LOTTS, age 59, for Unlawful Possession, Manufacturing and Distribution of Marijuana.  Both men live at the residence.

The interagency narcotics RADE team is comprised of personnel from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, Oregon State Police, Josephine County Sheriff's Office, Josephine County District Attorney's Office, and the Josephine County Community Corrections.
