OSP Arrests Inmate Escaping Mill Creek Correctional Facility

An inmate escaping from the Mill Creek Correctional Facility yard in the Salem area was apprehended Saturday night about 30 minutes later by Oregon State Police (OSP) and Department of Corrections (DOC).
On October 1, 2011 at approximately 5:55 p.m. inmate JASON MAGERS, age not available, escaped from the facility's yard.  About 30 minutes later he was apprehended in a nearby field and taken into custody by OSP troopers.
MAGERS was admitted into DOC custody July 5, 2011 for three counts of Possession of Methamphetamine in Yamhill County and one count of Burglary in the Second Degree in Polk County.  His earliest release date would have been August 18, 2012.
