A Longview-area man wanted for escape out of Washington State was arrested Sunday night by Oregon State Police (OSP) during a traffic stop east of Interstate 205 in southeast Portland.
On October 5, 2008 at approximately 11:00 p.m. OSP Senior Trooper Brandi Zeckman stopped a 1990 Acura four-door displaying Oregon license plates on SE Stark Street at SE 97th Avenue for failure to use safety restraints and other traffic violations. The car's driver, TYE LAIN SIBLEY, age 31, from Longview, Washington was arrested after the trooper learned he was listed as a potentially violent fugitive wanted out of Washington for Escape by the Washington State Department of Corrections.
During the stop the trooper also found in the car a Sap, a restricted weapon for which it is unlawful for a felon to possess, and a small amount of methamphetamine.
SIBLEY was lodged in the Multnomah County Jail for being a Fugitive From Justice, Unlawful Possession of a Restricted Weapon by a Felon, and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine.
