Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers from the Pendleton Area Command office are continuing the investigation into the cause of Friday afternoon's fatal traffic crash on the westbound lanes of Interstate 84 about thirteen miles east of Pendleton.  The crash resulted in the death of a Walla Walla, Washington man.
According to Sergeant Sterling Hall, on October 14, 2011 at approximately 2:37 p.m. a 2010 Dodge pickup driven by LUCAS JAMES KRALMAN, age 36, from Walla Walla, Washington was westbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 223 in the right hand lane when it crashed into the back of a semi-trailer pulled by a 2010 Peterbuilt truck driven by PAUL M. OJINAGA, age 46, from Rancho Cucamonga, California.  There was no evidence of hard braking by the pickup before the crash.
KRALMAN was pronounced deceased at the scene.
OJINAGA was not injured.  He was driving for May Trucking Company.
OSP was assisted at the scene by Umatilla County Sheriff's Office, Umatilla Tribal EMS, and ODOT.  The right westbound lane was closed about two hours.
