A $1,000 reward is offered by the Tillamook Chapter of Oregon Hunters Association to help Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish & Wildlife Division identify the suspects involved in last weekend's unlawful killing of a 5x5 bull elk about twelve miles south of Highway 6 in the Trask River drainage.
According to OSP Trooper Casey Thomas, on October 11, 2008 at approximately 8:00 a.m. witnesses heard two gunshots and spotted a newer dark green Ford F250 or F350 crew cab pickup with four occupants in the area where a 5x5 bull elk was found killed and left to waste. The area is described as approximately 12 miles south of Highway 6 and ten miles east of Highway 101.
Witnesses further described the pickup's occupants as four white male adults. The driver was described as 45 – 55 years of age with a shaved head and short hair.
