Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division is asking for the public's help to identify the suspect(s) responsible for last week's illegal killing of a deer that was then decapitated and left to waste near Ashwood in Jefferson County. A reward of up to $250 is offered by Oregon Hunters Association for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this investigation.
According to Senior Trooper Chuck Lindberg, on October 12, 2011 a report was received of a decapitated deer on ranch property off Gosner Road east of Ashwood. Initial investigation indicates the deer was shot and its head was cut off using an unknown cutting tool. Lindberg believes the deer was killed Monday evening, October 10, or Tuesday, October 11.
Anyone with information to help solve this investigation is asked to call the Turn-In-Poacher tip line at 800-452-7888 or Senior Trooper Lindberg at (541) 388-6213 ext. 5576.
