Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers, with the assistance of the Tillamook County Medical Examiner, are continuing to complete an investigation following the death of Oregon City man found slumped in the driver's seat of his work vehicle at the Tillamook Cheese Factory. The death appears to be from natural causes.
On October 18, 2010 at approximately 3:37 p.m. OSP troopers and Tillamook County-area emergency responders went to the Tillamook Cheese Factory following a report of a man slumped behind the steering wheel of a 2006 Ford F250 pickup along Latimer Road on company property. DAVID DON CAMPBELL, age 47, from Oregon City, was pronounced deceased at the scene after paramedics were unable to revive him.
Preliminary investigation indicates CAMPBELL was doing some installation work in a factory building and complained earlier in the day to co-workers of chest pain. He was last seen going to his pickup to make a phone call at about 2:00 p.m. About 3:15 p.m. a Cheese Factory worker went to contact CAMPBELL and found him unconscious in the pickup.
OSP troopers from the Tillamook office are completing the investigation. Tillamook County Sheriff's Office, Tillamook Police Department, Tillamook Ambulance, and Tillamook County Medical Examiner assisted.
