An Oregon State Police (OSP) traffic stop eight days ago led to the arrest of a southeast Portland man after troopers found approximately 3/4 lb. of methamphetamine and a large amount of cash concealed in the vehicle. OSP Drug Enforcement Section detectives have been continuing the investigation since the stop and arrest.
On October 13, 2010 at approximately 8:47 p.m. an OSP trooper stopped a 2000 Nissan pickup displaying Oregon license plates northbound on Interstate 205 at the Glenn Jackson Bridge for a traffic violation. During contact the operator was identified as CLEMENTE OROZCO RODRIGUEZ, age 33, from southeast Portland.
Subsequent investigation during the traffic stop with the assistance of an OSP drug detection canine led to the discovery of approximately 3/4 lb. of methamphetamine and $9000 cash concealed inside the pickup.
OROZCO RODRIGUEZ was taken into custody for Unlawful Delivery and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine and Money Laundering. He was lodged at the Multnomah County Justice Center. According to the jail's website he bailed two days later.
