Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish & Wildlife Division troopers from the Springfield Area Command office are asking for the public's help to identify the person(s) responsible for the illegal killing of a bull elk in the Carpet Hill / Tire Mountain area northeast of Lookout Reservoir in Lane County. A reward of up to $500 is being offered by the Oregon Hunters Association Turn-in-Poacher (TIP) reward program for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.
According to Trooper Ed Imholt, the bull was killed during sometime during the evening of October 4, 2011. The bull elk was shot and left to waste along the road.
