Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish & Wildlife Division is asking for the public's help to identify the suspect(s) involved with unlawfully killing and wasting a large six point bull elk found near Astoria.
According to OSP Trooper Tim Schwartz, on October 25, 2008 information was received of a large six point bull elk shot and left to waste near Astoria. Contact with the land owner helped locate the elk near his residence approximately 1/4 mile north of Stavebolt Road and 1/8 mile east of Logan Road.
Trooper Schwartz said it appears the bull elk was shot one time and partially field dressed either on Thursday, October 23rd or Friday, October 24th.
