Bicyclist Dies from Injuries Sustained in Tuesday Night Collision - Highway 99E / Gladstone

A teenage bicyclist died Wednesday following a Tuesday night collision with a passenger car on Highway 99E in Gladstone. Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation.
On October 28, 2008 at approximately 11:55 p.m. a 1986 Honda Prelude driven by PHILIP L. TETERS, age 49, from Milwaukie, was northbound on Highway 99E entering the intersection at Glen Echo Avenue when a bicycle attempted to cross from the east side of the highway westbound against a red light. The Honda struck the bicyclist critically injuring its operator identified as NICOLAS LEVI MORENO, age 17, from Gladstone.
MORENO was transported to Oregon Health Sciences University for treatment. OSP received confirmation that MORENO died from his injuries the morning of October 29th.
The ongoing investigation indicates the bicycle did not having lighting equipment.
TETERS was not injured.
OSP troopers from the Portland Area Command office are continuing the investigation. Gladstone Police Department and Gladstone Fire Department assisted at the scene.
