A Kent, Washington man was arrested Saturday morning during an Oregon State Police (OSP) traffic stop after troopers determined he was under the influence of intoxicants and in possession of numerous drugs and approximately $20,000 cash.
On November 8, 2008 at approximately 8:00 a.m. OSP Senior Trooper Jeremy Richardson stopped a 1995 Nissan pickup displaying Washington license plates northbound Interstate 5 near the Baldock Rest Area about milepost 282 related to a citizen's reported traffic complaint. Contact with the driver, identified as SEAN MICHAEL COTE, age 26, from Kent, Washington, subsequently led to his arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.
During a search incident to the arrest Senior Trooper Richardson found small amounts of Marijuana, Cocaine, Methadone, Oxycontin and Soma. Approximately $20,000.00 cash was also found in the pickup.
COTE, who was enroute from California to Washington, was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail for DUII, Money Laundering, and two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.
