Two men from Texas were indicted Friday by a Lake County Grant Jury on felony marijuana possession charges following an Oregon State Police traffic stop last week that resulted in the discovery of approximately 4 pounds of marijuana.

On November 14, 2008, a Lake County Grand Jury indicted JAMES ARTHUR STELLE, age 23, from Dallas, Texas and GARY SHAYNE LOVELACE, age 35, from Austin, Texas, on two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance - Marijuana and one count of Criminal Forfeiture. The indictments were the result of a traffic stop conducted by Oregon State Police troopers on November 6, 2008 at approximately 2:45 p.m. northbound on Highway 395 in Lake County involving a 1997 Lexus four door displaying Texas license plates.

Subsequent investigation led troopers to arrest driver STELLE and passenger LOVELACE after finding approximately 4 pounds of marijuana, some of it individually packaged and vacuumed sealed, inside luggage concealed in the car's trunk. Both men were lodged in the Lake County Jail.
