A suspect wanted in Oregon and Washington was arrested last Thursday in Longview, Washington by members of an interagency U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and Longview police. Prior to the arrest, a Crime Stoppers reward was offered for information related to the search for this wanted fugitive.
On November 17, 2011 at approximately 7:06 p.m. SCOTT DAVID LAVELLE, age 19, was arrested when members of the Career Criminal Apprehension Team, assisted by Longview police, found him hiding in an attic of a Longview area home in the 300 block of 18th Avenue. Police officers were at the residence looking for another wanted individual when they found LAVELLE in the attic armed with a handgun.
LAVELLE was wanted on an Attempted Assault in the First Degree warrant out of Columbia County, Oregon after he was indicted July 2011 by a Columbia County Grand Jury in connection with a 2009 shooting. He also had warrants in Oregon for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and in Cowlitz County, Washington for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
LAVELLE is in custody at Cowlitz County Jail.
