Two California residents were arrested on multiple drug charges after being found in possession of several hundred controlled prescription pills during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 eight miles north of Roseburg early Saturday morning.
On November 26, 2010 at approximately 2:00 a.m. Trooper Joseph Feland stopped a white 2004 Toyota Camry driven by GREGORY SCOTT, age 34 of Los Angeles, California for a traffic violation. Riding as a passenger in the vehicle was ROSIE MANNING, age 55 of La Puente, California. During his contact with SCOTT and MANNING, Trooper Feland became suspicious that they were possibly engaging in criminal activity. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed several hundred controlled prescription pills of varying types including Morphine, Vicodin, Methadone and Oxycodone.
SCOTT and MANNING were arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession and Delivery of a Schedule II, a Schedule III and a Schedule IV controlled substance. Both SCOTT and MANNING were also charged with three counts each of Prohibited Practices, which is also a controlled substance offense. Both subjects were lodged at the Douglas County Jail with a total bail of $35,000 each.
