Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers arrested two Oregon State University (OSU) students Thursday for criminal mischief in relation to an investigation into several acts of graffiti on the OSU campus.
According to Lieutenant Steve Mitchell, on November 30 and December 1, 2011, troopers assigned to the University Area Command office investigated several acts of graffiti depicting a Star Wars "Storm Trooper" spray painted on at least 15 locations including campus-area buildings. An estimated damage cost figure is pending from OSU officials.
Video surveillance helped identify two OSU students as suspects.
On December 1, OSP troopers arrested JOHN ZAIKOSKI, age 19, from Beaverton, and KAMELA HASSELMAN, age 18, from Aloha. Both were taken into custody for Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree. After booking at the Benton County Jail, they were cited and released to appear in Benton County Circuit Court.
