Following the December 4th "Civil War" football game, thousands of fans went onto the Reser Stadium field. Near the east end of the OSU logo around the 35 yard line, a large group were gathered around an unidentified white male wearing a white #9 University of Oregon football jersey. A Portland Tribune newspaper photographer took a photograph of this person holding a burning object in the air. After the crowd cleared off the field, it was discovered that an unknown burning material landed onto the artificial turf and burned a small section causing a minimum of $1,500 damage.
