Update: Human Remains Found November 24th South of Yachats Identified as Missing Southeast Portland Man

With the assistance of the Lincoln County Medical Examiner and Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office, the human remains found November 24th on a rocky shoreline in the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area south of Yachats has been positively identified as MICHAEL RAY MYERS.
MICHAEL MYERS, age 34, and his 33-year old wife, KATHRYN MYERS, from southeast Portland, were swept off the South Jetty at Yaquina Bay near Newport on November 10, 2010. His wife's body was recovered that same day but he was missing until the human remains were found two weeks later and positively identified this week. Next of kin were notified.
The Oregon State Police Newport Area Command office is completing the investigation.
