The memorial service for Oregon State Police Senior Trooper Bill Hakim is scheduled for 11:00 a. m., Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the Oregon State Fairgrounds Jackson Armory in Salem Oregon. A memorial procession to the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training will follow the service.
Senior Trooper Hakim, age 51, died December 12, 2008 when an explosive device detonated at a Woodburn area bank. Woodburn Police Captain Tom Tennant also died and Woodburn Police Chief Scott Russell was critically injured.
Senior Trooper Hakim was assigned to the Arson & Explosives Section as a Hazardous Devices Technician. He is the 28th Oregon State Police trooper to lose his life in the line of duty.
