An Oregon State Police (OSP) traffic stop early Wednesday morning south of Sutherlin led OSP to a significant cash seizure and later to approximately 18 pounds of marijuana at a Cave Junction residence.
On December 15, 2010 at approximately 1:30 a.m. an OSP trooper stopped a 2000 Subaru Outback displaying Oregon license plates for a traffic violation southbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 134. The driver was identified as AUSTIN L. Using information and evidence related to the traffic stop, OSP Drug Enforcement Section detectives served a search warrant in the 1700 block of Dick George Lane in Cave Junction. OSP detectives seized and additional $8,000 cash, 18 lbs of marijuana, and other evidence related to the manufacture and distribution of drugs.
In total, OSP seized over $123,000 cash and approximately $43,000 worth of marijuana.
