A detective with the Oregon State Police (OSP) Criminal Investigations Division arrested a Sutherlin-area man Friday afternoon for three sex offenses related to allegations involving a known juvenile female in 2002.
On December 18, 2009 at 4:30 p.m. OSP arrested JAMES M. STANLEY, age 63, from Sutherlin for Rape in the First Degree, Sex Abuse in the Third Degree, and Using a Child in Display of Sexual Conduct.
An OSP detective began the investigation one month ago after the victim, who is 24 years of age now but was 17 years old when the crimes allegedly happened, reported the crimes. The investigation indicates the victim was abused in both Douglas and Coos counties.
STANLEY was lodged in the Coos County Jail on the above listed charges.
No other information available for release.
Arraignment questions should be directed to the Coos County District Attorney's Office on Monday.
