A Tuesday night storm that moved through the Burns area dumped over a foot of snow leading to intermittent road closures, reports of numerous downed power lines, and some property damage to area buildings and businesses.

According to Oregon State Police Sergeant Brian Williams, emergency responders and crews were busy throughout the night and early morning hours responding to weather-related problems including:
  • Highway 20 was closed intermittently several times because of traffic crashes, jackknifed commercial trucks, and vehicles sliding off the highway.
  • Highway 395 near milepost 56 was closed for an hour after a large tree fell across the highway.
  • Numerous reports of downed power lines and blown transformers in the Burns / Hines area.
  • A house on N. Buena Vista in Burns was struck by a fallen tree.
  • A roof collapsed damaging a portion of the Burns Ford dealership.
