| OSP SWAT Team Assists With Armed Subject in Madras |

Members of the Oregon State Police (OSP) S.W.A.T. team assisted the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Friday afternoon with an armed subject who had reportedly barricaded himself inside a residence on the outskirts of Madras. After several hours of attempting to establish communications officers entered the residence and found the subject deceased.
On December 31, 2010 at approximately 2:15 p.m. the OSP S.W.A.T. team, at the request of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, responded to a residence near the intersection of Dee Street and South Adams Street in Madras to assist with an armed subject who had reportedly barricaded himself inside.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., after several hours of unsuccessfully attempting to establish communications, officers entered the residence and found the subject, a 19-year old male, was deceased. Investigation is on going. Further details regarding this incident will be released by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
