Crime Tips to OSP

A public tip can be the critical link helping solve major crimes and cold cases. In major case investigations, the public may be asked to provide tips and information that could solve a crime and/or help find a suspect or other person of interest.

An email address – crimetips2OSP@state.or.us – is available to provide tips or other requested critical information to the Oregon State Police. Email tips will be monitored by the Criminal Investigations Division, reviewed and then forwarded to the lead investigator(s) for follow-up investigation.

Emails should include specific details including the type of case and tip information related to the criminal investigation. Even though tips may be received anonymously, email authors are encouraged to provide contact information for follow-up by the investigator(s), if needed.

The crimetips2OSP email account is not designed for submitting editorial comments, official complaints, or to report crimes. To report emergency incidents or crimes, call 9-1-1 or an Oregon State Police Regional Command Center dispatch. Non-emergency questions may be directed to your local Oregon State Police office. A list of office phone numbers and addresses is available on our website at our Contact Us link
