Lost In The Line Of Duty
Officer Shepherd was shot and killed from ambush by a lone assailant while on duty May 22nd, 1980, in rural Clatsop County. The accused was apprehended after a statewide manhunt. He pled guilty to murder, and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
