The Oregon Water Resources Department is seeking public comment on applications received by the Water Conservation, Reuse and Storage Grant program. The Grant Program, established by Senate Bill 1069 (2008), is designed to fund the qualifying costs of planning studies that evaluate the feasibility of developing water conservation, re-use or storage projects.
The Department solicited for grant applications from August 15 through November 1, 2013. Nine applications were received that requested over $880,000 for project funding. However, due to the limited funds available, the Water Resources Commission will be unable to fully fund all the applications.
A multi-agency team reviewed and scored each application using criteria established by administrative rule. All the applications had components that were considered to be of merit for funding from the grant program. The review team efforts resulted in the funding priority list below.
