2011 MACR and Member Account Correction
What Employers Must Do
New DTL2 record posting restrictions were installed with EDX Release 6.0 and became operational on June 29, 2011, causing suspension of many records and reports. PERS began correcting affected 2011 member accounts and anticipates completing 2011 accounts by Monday, March 5, 2012, the close of 2011 MACR.
 
Employers MUST inform PERS of position hire intent for affected 2011 accounts. PERS will correct affected 2011 accounts but must defer hire intent to employers for the affected 2011 positions.
 
PERS asked employers to provide that hire intent guidance by completing the Employer Hire Intent Survey. If you were unable to complete the survey, you must contact a member of your 2011 MACR team with that hire intent information. You can find your 2011 MACR team members, their e-mail addresses, and phone numbers by clicking on the Find Your ESC Account Team for MACR 2011 link under the ESC Account Team Locator heading on the PERS employer webpage at www.oregon.gov/pers/emp/index.shtml.
 
Employers DO NOT NEED to back out and re-enter records for PERS-corrected 2011 accounts. PERS will change the 2011 position for affected accounts based on employer guidance. When PERS changes the position, EDX will automatically back out the affected record(s), change the wage code, and re-post the affected record(s), either refunding contributions for positions changed to non-qualifying or calculating and invoicing contributions for positions changed to active service. Employers DO NOT NEED to back out and re-enter records for positions modified by PERS; in fact, employers will be duplicating what EDX will do automatically.
