PHIP New Enrollment Presentations

The PERS Health Insurance Program (PHIP) has scheduled presentations throughout the year for those retirees who will become Medicare-eligible whether due to turning 65 years of age or due to disability within the next 12 months. We also encourage PERS members to attend who may be considering retirement within the next year and have questions regarding their healthcare options at retirement.

These meetings include an overview of the PHIP program, Medicare, PHIP enrollment timelines, and the PHIP medical and dental plan offerings. Meetings last approximately one and a half to two hours. Pre-registration is required for the PERS headquarters location only. Please register online.

PHIP Plan Change Presentations

Already a PHIP member? 

PHIP offers an annual plan change period from October 1 to November 15. Information about making changes to your plan is mailed in September. During this time, you can change your current PHIP medical or dental plan to any PHIP plan that is available within your residing service area.

Plan changes made during this period become effective January 1. This annual plan change period is not an opportunity to add dental coverage or dependents. If you are enrolled and do not want to change plans, no paperwork is required. However, if you want to make a change, you must fill out both a disenrollment form for the plan you are ending and a new enrollment form for the new coverage you are requesting. Submit both forms to PHIP before the November 1 deadline. You may obtain forms online at www.pershealth.com or by calling 800-768-7377. If you do not submit a change during this period, you will be unable to change your enrollment mid-year unless you experience a family status change or new enrollment opportunity.
