The PERS Health Insurance Program (PHIP) offers health and dental insurance coverage for all PERS retirees, their spouses and eligible dependents. These informational meetings are designed to inform potential retirees of the PERS options available to them for medical and dental insurance.
When planning your retirement, review all health coverage options available through your employer to determine the best health coverage option for you. PHIP offers Medicare and non-Medicare health insurance options. Below are the various types of health plans available through PHIP. Refer to the Member Handbook and Benefit Guide for your health plan options.

Already a member of PHIP?
PHIP offers an annual plan change period from October 1 to November 15. Information about making changes is mailed in September. During this time, you can change your medical or dental plan to any plan that is available within your residing service area.
Plan changes made during this period become effective January 1. This annual plan change period is not an opportunity to add dental coverage or dependents. If you are enrolled and do not want to change plans, no paperwork is required. However, if you want to make a change, you must fill out both a Termination Form for the plan you are ending and an Enrollment Request Form for the new coverage. Submit both forms to PHIP before the November 15 deadline. You may obtain forms online at www.pershealth.com or by calling PHIP Customer Service at 800-786-7377. If you do not submit a change during this period, you will be unable to change your enrollment midyear, unless you experience a family status change or new enrollment opportunity.
