High Speed Internet Maps

The US Commerce Department unveiled a searchable national, interactive map of broadband access on February 17, 2011.  Creation of the map was made possible by funding under the Broadband Data Improvement Act through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. http://www.broadbandmap.gov/

Individuals can enter their address and receive a listing of the broadband service providers and technologies available in that area as well as general broadband coverage information. The data will be updated every six months.

Oregon launched its statewide on-line interactive broadband map http://www.oregon.gov/broadband/ in May 2011.  In addition to broadband service information generated from a user selected address or location in the state, users can run speed tests, find community anchor institutions such as schools, libraries, hospitals, health clinics, universities, city halls and courthouses and broadband coverage information for the entire state and print the results.
