Salem, OR - Today the Oregon Senate confirmed Commissioner Susan Ackerman to a four-year term on the Oregon Public Utility Commission.
Commissioner Ackerman was initially appointed to the Commission in March 2010 by Gov. Kulongoski to fill out the remainder of Commissioner Lee Beyer’s term.
“I look forward to continuing working on the variety of challenges that the Commission faces related to energy, telecommunications and helping resolve customer complaints,” the Commissioner said. “I appreciate the confidence that Gov. Kitzhaber has shown
by nominating me to continue to serve on the Commission.”
Before her appointment, Commissioner Ackerman was an attorney working in private practice representing a variety of clients in electricity and natural gas regulatory matters, including electric and natural gas rate cases, pipeline and wholesale power rate cases, transmission matters and contracts, wholesale power sales and contracts, natural gas contracting, competitive procurement, and integrated resource planning, among others.
The Commission regulates customer rates and services of the state's investor-owned electric, natural gas and telephone utilities; and certain water companies.
Commissioner Ackerman’s new term expires March 13, 2016.
