Introduction
On February 17, 2009, President Barack Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to jumpstart the economy, invest in long-term growth, create and retain existing jobs, and foster unprecedented levels of accountability and transparency in government spending.
As part of this accountability and transparency, Oregon has created this website as a portal to see first-hand how money is being used in your local community to promote economic recovery. The website lists detailed information about Recovery Act investments in human services, public safety and education, as well as energy, transportation, housing and other job-creating infrastructure projects in Oregon.
The Governor established the Economic Recovery Executive Team to track the infusion of federal stimulus dollars in Oregon. The team works closely with state agencies on implementation of the Recovery Act, including grant application design and related policy development; contract, procurement and vendor issues; communication and outreach; and compliance and auditing issues.
