Comparable Out-of-State Exams
Individuals who are certified outside the state of Oregon who have taken and passed subject matter certification exams may be exempt from the requirement to pass Oregon’s corresponding subject matter exam.
If you submit the official score report for any subject matter exam(s) that you were required to take. TSPC will complete a comparability review of the exam(s) to determine if it is comparable to the exam that Oregon currently requires. If TSPC determines that the exam is substantially similar, then Oregon’s exam(s) will be waived.
The table below contains a list of out-of-state exams by state that have been reviewed by TSPC. The table will indicate whether or not the exam was deemed comparable to waive the corresponding Oregon exam. Lists are updated frequently as new exams are reviewed.
