NEWS AND UPDATES
Electrical and Plumbing code cycle change
With the adoption and implementation of the 2023 OESC, based on the 2023 NEC, and the 2023 OPSC, based on the 2021 UPC, set for Oct. 1, 2023, all 2021 code cycle approved courses for the electrical and plumbing trades will be expiring Oct. 1, 2023. You’ll notice that all 2021 course expiration dates in the CE portal have been updated to reflect this information.
2023 code change, code related, and Oregon Rule and Law courses
can now be submitted for review and approval by the appropriate board. Please review the Important Submission Dates prompt on the Information for providers webpage for submittal deadlines and their corresponding board meetings.
Also on the Information for providers webpage there are links to the instructor and course applications; new instructor applications and credentials must be submitted at the beginning of each code cycle.
Continuing education requirements
Continuing education is required to renew most licenses.
During each three-year license cycle, either 24, 16, eight, four, or zero hours of continuing education, depending on specialty (i.e. electrical, plumbing, or boiler and pressure vessel) is required. Continuing education classes can be taken any time during a renewal cycle.
