Software Association of Oregon Event
Overview
Dugan Petty, Chief Information Officer for the State of Oregon, co-sponsored this Technology and Procurement event with the Software Association of Oregon.  The event was held on January 19, 2010 at the Oregon State Fairgrounds.
 
The purpose of this event was to bring together leaders of the software and technology industries with technology executives of the State of Oregon.  The goals:
  • To share information about current and emerging technologies with State agency CIOs
  • To learn more about the unique challenges facing technology executives in the public sector, and
  • To begin a dialogue about the potential for a long-term, collaborative partnership between the two groups

In addition to valuable information, discussion and networking opportunities, the afternoon portion of the program included a two-hour training workshop on ORPIN, the State of Oregon procurement information network.
