E-Government Program

Oregon's E-Government Program

The Oregon Chief Information Officer's Electronic Go​vernment Program helps Oregon government provide online services to Oregon residents and businesses over the internet.

Our most well know service is Oregon.gov and we manage over 300 different services and are growing at a rate of about 20-30 new government services per year.

Within state government, we are the largest enterprise provider of websites, online payments, internet applications, transparent government data and collaboration​. ​We have contracted with private industry partners to deliver the services we have managed for over 10 years.  

We also support over 165 ​websites, mostly within ​Oregon.gov. We help agencies move payment processes online. Our single year high in collecting payments over the internet is $3 billion. We provide many Internet applications such as licensing, public meetings, training portals, event management and hundreds of services to dynamically lookup information. We support the state’s largest collaboration portal used by state government, businesses, vendors, and citizens working to support the state’s mission and we support government transparency with the dynamic open data portal viewed over 20 million times. Finally, we are working to use the Internet to expand two way interaction between gov​ernment and the residents of Oregon.​

Govern​ance

The E-Governance Board promotes innovative, mobile enabled, usability tested websites that are both consistent and flexible throughout over 100 Oregon.gov ​public Web sites. The multi-agency board focuses on the important connection between all state agencies, boards and commissions of state government and the public we serve. Under the sponsorship of the Governor's office, the Board meets regularly to co​nsider and set website standards, advanced web communication techniques, provide assistance and communicate opportunities that go with maintaining the state's large presence on the Web.

Electronic Government Portal Advisory Board (EPAB) is comprised of members from the public, the legislature and government executives, providing advice and guidance to state government concerning the delivery of services to the public online. Though it is mostly focused on the services provided by the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) E-Government Program offered by Shared Services, its scope is not limited to that. Members of the legislature are non-voting and provide important feedback to the board on the needs they collect from residents to help our government advance. Public members keep our efforts connected to what matt​ers to the res​idents of Oregon.
