The Department of Human Services, Office of Safety, Oversight and Quality, is responsible for licensing and oversight of all 132 nursing facilities in the State of Oregon. Prior to licensing, nursing facilities are inspected on an annual basis to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.

Nursing facilities provide both short-term, rehabilitative care following hospitalization as well as long-term care for individuals who need care for chronic illness or ongoing disability.

Services include person-centered, individualized care planning to aid with personal and medical care as well as social or recreational activities of daily living.

A hallmark of nursing facilities is care is provided and overseen by licensed caregivers, including a licensed nurse on duty for each shift. To locate nursing facilities in your area, visit the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) website.
