Charities will fill the Capitol Mall fountain area on Sept. 2nd
Charitable Fund Drive kicks off Sept. 2nd
State and University employees do something amazing every fall.  They transform into philanthropists, with the help of the State of Oregon Employees’ Charitable Fund Drive.
Hundreds of employees join forces to support more than 800 Oregon nonprofits with their hard-earned money.  Together, they donated more than $860,000 last year – and they want to do it again this year!
The Charitable Fund Drive will officially kick off with a Charity Fair from 11:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. on Wed., September 2nd on the Capitol Mall. All State employees are invited to meet the dozens of charities showing off their work at the event, enter a drawing for one of 50 free lunches donated by Café Bon Appétit at Willamette University, and enjoy live music.
If you are a State or University employee who wants to support a favorite nonprofit with an easy payroll contribution, you can visit ecfd.oregon.gov on or after September 1st to learn more or pledge!
The Charitable Fund Drive has raised more than $25.2 million since 1989. The Fund Drive gives State employees access to charitable giving through a payroll contribution; 100% of all employee donations are passed on to umbrella nonprofit organizations. Expenses are always less than 10% of the funds raised, and those costs are paid by the umbrella organizations in the Fund Drive.
The umbrella organizations (together representing more than 800 charities) in the 2015 Charitable Fund Drive are:  Black United Fund of Oregon, Children’s Trust Fund of Oregon, Community Health Charities, EarthShare Oregon, Equity Foundation, Habitat for Humanity of Oregon, Local Independent Charities of America, MRG Foundation, Oregon Coalition against Domestic and Sexual Violence, Work for Art, and 16 United Ways and United Funds throughout Oregon.
