Coastal Tribal Relations

Although tribal nations within Oregon's coastal zone are not networked partners with the Oregon Coastal Management Program (OCMP), OCMP recognizes and respects that Oregon tribal nations are each separate and sovereign nations with deep cultural and historical connections to the Oregon Coast. Both the Department of Land Conservation and Development and the Oregon Coastal Management Program welcome open and constructive relationships with tribal nations to better support the management of coastal resources and protection of cultural heritage.

OCMP currently uses the broader DLCD government-to-government consultation policy, but the program plans to create a more tailored policy soon.
