Springfield Urban Growth Boundary

On March 31, 2017, the City of Springfield and Lane County submitted an adopted amendment to the Springfield urban growth boundary (UGB) to the Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) for review. The submittal was determined to be complete.

The DLCD director must approve or remand the submittal, or refer it to the Land Conservation and Development Commission (LCDC). (See OAR 660-025-0150.). The director referred the submittal to LCDC for a hearing on November 16, 2017. The director’s report to LCDC is available here (also see “Department Report,” below). LCDC conducted the November 16 hearing, receiving argument from the city and objectors. The commission continued the matter to its January 25-26, 2018 meeting.
